The AKA band is a powerful combination originating as a side band from the Millage Gilbert band.
For over two decades, Linda Shell has been one of the brightest lights of the Kansas City Music scene. She’s brilliantly represented of all that’s great about Kansas City music, a tradition that inextricably mingles what we now call jazz and blues with a swing rhythm that helped birth rock and roll.
Shell’s vocals really come down to how well her laser sharp voice expresses the emotional directions of the music. Like all great blues singers, Linda makes music sound purposeful with restraint as well as grace and control offering almost too much emotion for a listener to handle.
Originator Arthur Seabury sought out to have a fun dedicated band who truly loved to perform for crowds no matter what the occasion. Arthur is known in Kansas City as a very solid drummer and his dedication and dependability to the art keeps him a hot very sought after musician.
He solicited
Kansas City Kelsey who is well known in Kansas and Missouri and Adam
Page as the connection and brother hood to carry the message of Shades
of the Blues. KC Kelsey is preparing to release his CD which has been
birthed largely in the company of the AKA band. (Adam, Kelsey and
Arthur) Armond Nelson has been a solid fit since the untimely death of
Adam Page. Armond is known as “Twin” by most and as the music teacher at
UCLA by others. Bobby Carson completes this foursome with the hot guitar
that only Bobby can produce. He has become very mature and taystee in
this four piece band. After leaving the Kansas City Pack band he
replaced Michael Elrod as the lead guitarist.
As Kansas City Kelsey says "There Will Be Blues".
