Jah Lion

Jah Lion

The Lion of God is a powerful roots reggae band with a foundation rooted strongly in the African/Jamaican culture. You will be pleased to know that the little Island has had an impact on so many in this world, even in the Mid west. Jahlion is a breath of fresh Island  air right here in the USA.

The Drummer and lead vocalist "Sabu" or Arthur Seabury is the originator of this force. He was fortunate enough to be embraced by many Jamaican artists due to the hunger for the music and the culture. As the drummer for the very popular Kansas City based Reggae band Deepa Reality he found a kinship in the roots reggae music. The band Jahlion is credited for opening for many International artists such as Lucian, Bares Hammond, Jr. Reed, Dennis Brown, Gregory Isaacs, Tony Rebel, Toots and the Mytals Ziggy Marley, Morgan Heritage, Bunny Wailer, Yellow Man and many more acts.

The band Deepa Reality gave validation to his spiritual quest as well as birthing Jah Lion. Keyboardist Ed Turner another former member of the Deepa Reality band is awesome with his talented music, vocal abilities, and arrangement skills. He has played with several national Acts as well as being the premier Midwest keyboard and Reggae super crooning vocalist.

Dave Cummings is a talented sax and flute player and veteran musician in the Kansas City area. He has played with several major bands in the Midwest including Gary Mac's Atlantic Express. Dave adds flute and sax to a very taystee mix of roots and culture.

You will hear a songbird known as Cozi Linda Cosar on lead and back ground vocals. Her percussions blend with the rhythm of the ancestors and the music of Jah lion. She has been a blessing to the band and is such a treat to hear...

Back in the line up is the funky roots rock bass style of one of Kansas City’s finest reggae bass men Michael Bradsher. Michael was the original Bassist for Jah lion. He really gives the foundation a true reggae feel and is a true roots and culture technician.

We have also added Carl Cason as our rhythm guitarist. He holds down the skank and the real rhythm of Jahlion

Thomas Morris Jr. adds a jazz flavor to an already African spiced music in a very unique style to accent this flavorful style of music. Please enjoy the band when you can.

Eddie is a versatile keyboardist and vocalist hailing from St. Louis, Mo.  Eddie began playing professionally at age fifteen working in the Funk and R&B genres.  He discovered and focused on absorbing the intriguing nuances of reggae keyboards in the mid-eighties and has since become an accomplished reggae keyboardist working with or opening for some of the biggest names in reggae music.  Eddie’s vocal abilities have always been in demand and he currently serves as front man for the Grammy nominated Blue Riddim band.
